Orphans Drawing Competition

How can you help these orphans?

The Centre seeks committed permanent sponsors who will “adopt” a child or family for the duration of their education to whatever level of education the child is capable of reaching.

All sponsorship monies are directed to the payment of the child’s school fees, purchase of uniforms, books and other educational expenses. These are also a provision for morning tea cake which the child purchases at school.

Each sponsors remains committed to the same child / children for the duration of their sponsorship.

The sponsor is issued receipts for all donations.

At the completion of each six month’s school term, the sponsor will receive a summary of the child’s progress at school, a thank you letter written by the child in either English or Indonesian and any other pertinent information about their circumstances.

The children are weighed and measured to monitor their physical development. If a sponsor wishes to send a child gift of clothing, these up to date measurements will ensure the garments fit perfectly.

Annual costs for school fees, uniforms and other educational requirements
July 2009 – June 2010

The fee includes school fees, uniforms, curriculum study books, note books, stationery, additional fees for field trips and morning tea cake and drink.

Casual Sponsor

The Centre welcomes donations without any ongoing commitment. Your gift will be directed to the provision of short-term assistance for the children, medical crises, and supplies of food, milk, fruit juice, drinking water, soap, shampoo, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, pillows, pillowcases, sheets and blankets.

Material Donors

The Centre would gratefully receive any gifts of new clothing, towels, bedding, writing and art supplies and fiction or non fiction books.

If you are traveling to Bali and have the opportunity of visiting the Centre, a gift of any of the above mentioned items of perishable / liquid items such as rice, milk, fruit juice, biscuits, cake, children’s vitamins, toiletries or cleaning products would be gratefully received.

Other Projects

The Centre also co-ordinates special projects within the extended community such as:
•provision of clean water pumped directly into the orphans’ compounds
•installation of shower, toilet, hand washing and laundry facilities
•renovation of orphans’ bedrooms and kitchens
•provision of bedroom furniture, desk, chair, pillows, bed linen and towels
•enhancing the standards of the local Elementary School through building projects and provision of otherwise unaffordable educational supplies and reference material
•Golden Girls’ Club (An opportunity for ladies over 70 years of age to socialize)

The Centre would welcome your visit. If you are a teacher of English, your talents would be joyously received even for one session.

Together, we can make an enormous difference to the lives these children who, without our love, support and educational opportunities will continue the poverty cycle. These children will be the future leaders within their communities and hopefully beyond into the broader horizons of greater Bali and Indonesia. They will always take with them the comfort of our love and the appreciation of the opportunities they have been given to enhance their live both now and in the future.
